Paddle Care Guide

At Primal Sports, every paddle is born from the essence of mythical force. To keep your paddle performing at its peak, proper care is essential. Just as legends endure through time, so can your paddle—if treated with respect.

How to Clean Your Pickleball Paddle

Cleaning the Hitting Surface

Your paddle’s textured surface helps you command spin and control, but it can also accumulate dirt and dust over time.

  • Use water and a lint-free cloth to gently wipe away debris.
  • Avoid harsh household cleaners—they leave sticky residue that affects play.
  • For raw carbon fiber paddles, use a pickleball cleaning eraser. Rub it in circular motions across the surface to restore that crisp, primal bite.
⚠️ Note: The graphics and artwork on your paddle may naturally wear due to ball contact. This is a normal effect and does not impact performance.

Cleaning the Grip

Sweat, dust, and daily play can wear down the grip quickly.

  • Wipe the handle with a soft, damp cloth after each session.
  • Dry it thoroughly before storage.
  • Replace the grip periodically to maintain comfort and control.

How to Care for Your Paddle

Avoid Extreme Temperatures

Like mythical weapons forged in balance, paddles must be shielded from extremes.

  • Cold can make paddles brittle.
  • Heat can soften the face and cause delamination.
  • Store in a cool, dry environment—never in a hot car or damp garage.

Keep It Dry

Do not submerge your paddle in water or leave it exposed to rain. The honeycomb core may trap moisture, reducing performance and durability.

Handle with Care

Paddles are designed to withstand the impact of play—not frustration.

  • Avoid slamming the paddle on hard surfaces.
  • Consider using edge guard tape for extra protection from chips and scratches.
  • A paddle cover or padded case is strongly recommended for transport and storage.

Paddle Lifespan

A paddle’s life varies based on usage and playing style. On average, paddles last one to five years. Heavy, frequent play may reduce lifespan, while careful handling extends it.

At Primal Sports, we stand behind the durability of our paddles. Each comes with a 30-day manufacturer warranty for defects (not covering wear and tear or accidental damage).

Treat your paddle as you would a legendary artifact—with respect and care—and it will continue to unleash your primal force on the court.
